His warning to users of butane gas as a fuel

Secure the country's supply of petroleum products, meet its needs today, anticipate those of tomorrow, and cover the entire sub-region. Such is the materialization of the act taken by the Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly, on Friday July 28, 2023, on the occasion of the inauguration and commissioning of the 4000-ton A41 sphere of Gestoci (Société de gestion des stocks pétroliers de Côte d'Ivoire).

Sangafowa-Coulibaly praised the leadership of President Alassane Ouattara, who has made it a priority to strengthen Côte d'Ivoire's petroleum product supply and distribution system, and explained that butane benefits from a policy that gives even the most modest households access to this product.

The aim is to combat deforestation and protect the health of housekeepers. "Nearly a decade on, this policy has been a resounding success, to the point where national demand for butane is growing by almost 10% a year. Under these conditions, storage capacity has to keep pace, and with the inauguration of today's sphere, we're only a third of the way through our butane storage requirements", noted the Minister. The Minister congratulated and encouraged Gestoci on this important sphere, before reassuring the company of the Government's support for its success.
